Short Summary

This painting was inspired by my latest trip to Bahia, Brazil.

Monstera Deliciosa is a common plant in the tropics. I feel melancholic to know I cannot experience it here in the outdoors of Europe.
So I created a painting that serves as a portal to this lush vegetation and that can be accessed from the comfort of a home. 
I takes me back to the jungles of Bahia every time I stop and contemplate it.

Clarissa's works have something magical about them. The often black background gives us no further information about where we are or what lies behind the flowers. But this creates an incredible calm and depth that makes the work decorative on the one hand, but far beyond that, the work also calms us down, lets us indulge and dream. You may hear the odd bird, smell the flowers or the plant while sinking deeper and deeper into the picture and into the calm. 

Clarissa is a gifted artist with a focus on flora and fauna. Especially the flora from her old homeland, Brazil. 

She was also able to design a unique watch dial as part of the Art 4 Charity art24 campaign. Unique in production and as a motif. A piece of nature, plants and tranquillity on your wrist - who wouldn't want that? Available to buy here.
