The Hyacinth Macaws are the largest of their species; they contribute to the regeneration of the forests they live in. Although beautiful, they are a vulnerable species, and just like all those that purchase them as pets, the artist was captivated by their blue plumage. For this reason, it was the artist’s goal to create this piece in hopes that the contrast between the blues and yellows would create an irresistible tension of colour.
