Short Summary

Colourants that change their appearance depending on the temperature.

Our employee Lea Kämpf, MA Restoration and Conservation, was able to participate in scientific research on the topic of "Thermochromic Pigments" during her studies.

These pigments react in a certain temperature range and thus change their colour. For example, they can fade at temperatures above 30 degrees. If you touch a thermochromic colour surface with your hand, it becomes transparent.

These special colouring agents can be discovered not only in art, e.g., in the form of room installations by J. Mayer H. or as a form of design in product design but are mainly used in technical or industrial areas as surveillance or security elements.
