About the artwork
A gigantic yet unrecognisable acer macrophyllum overcasts the lonely thinker on the park bench. As the large branches of the Maple are yet to blossom and spread leaves - which would enable its identification - the surrounding park vanishes into oblivion and transcends to a spatial void, symbolising the notion of being captured in one's mind by their thoughts. Graceful solitude and practical magic are features often associated with maple trees.
