About the artwork

The artwork itself is a square canvas. Its main body is a swirling blend of dark teal, black, and deep green acrylic paint, giving a marbled or fluid effect. Over this are collaged pieces of what appears to be old German text, cut into geometric shapes primarily triangles. Scattered across the painted background are several small wooden heart shapes; some are painted with the same swirling teal, green, and black paint as the background, others are solid purple. There are also a few small dark purple buttons. The overall effect is a visually busy, somewhat chaotic, and slightly dark aesthetic.
Attached to the right side of the canvas is a piece of beige linen with a cross-stitch pattern in teal, dark green, and dark blue. The pattern is a repeating geometric design. This linen is bordered by a strip of burlap fabric, giving a rustic feel. Attached to the bottom of the burlap and linen piece, using a small wire loop, is a white wooden heart, larger than the smaller hearts on the painted canvas.
The overall mood is one of whimsical, slightly melancholic creativity. The use of found objects and text, combined with the swirling paint, evokes a sense of memory, nostalgia, or perhaps a reflection on the passage of time.
