About the artwork
The search for what is essential, pure, simple, has been a constant in my pictorial research.
It is only by looking beyond the superficial that we can find a deep connection with life, our feelings, the world around us.
We live surrounded by constant stimuli of sound and images. There is little space for silence and listen to the deep truth, the one that lives inside of us.
Essence is a series in which, starting from the observation of baroque masterpieces, full of exuberance and hedonism, I make the effort to reach their soul, reinterpreting small segments of the paintings in an attempt to reveal the simplicity and serenity that inhabit any environment. It is up to us to find them.
I invite you to stop and look at the naked beauty of what is silent and, at the same time, full of meaning.
